The San Francisco Giants won the Wild Card playoff game against the Pirates in Pittsburgh 8-0.  Dominant from the start, Giants ace Madison Bumgarner pitched a complete game, holding the Pirates to four hits, walking only one and striking out 10.

His offense held their own as well, stringing together key hits and after a scoreless game going into the fourth, Shortstop Brandon Crawford made the key blow, hitting a grand slam to put the Giants ahead 4-0.  This was the first time in postseason history a shortstop has hit a grand slam.

The Giants would continue to tack on runs and Bumgarner continued his pitching mastery over the Pirates throughout the rest of the game.  The Giants now move on to the Division Series facing the Washington Nationals in the nation’s capital on Friday.
